Dark red or dark purple rhombic crystal, easy to deliquesce. Heat to the melting point to start decomposition, and heat to the boiling point to complete decomposition. It is used in the production of chromium compounds, oxidants, catalysts, in addition to wood anticorrosion, electroplating, etc. It is prepared by the reaction of concentrated sulfuric acid and potassium dichromate.
